It's easier than you might think!
You've downloaded your new eBook from the Tobias Roote Reader's Lounge. Now you'd like to read it on your Kindle.
No problem. You don't need special software, a computer expert, or even a cable. Amazon provides a free service that does the job for you.
Here's how to get your book onto your Kindle in a few simple steps.
Step 1: Download your book
Visit your library in the Tobias Roote Reader's Lounge and download your book in EPUB format.
The file will usually be saved in your device's Downloads folder.
EPUB is the standard eBook format used by the Reader's Lounge, and Amazon's Send to Kindle service supports it. Simply upload your EPUB and Amazon takes care of the rest.
Step 2: Visit Amazon's Send to Kindle page
Open this link:
Sign in with the same Amazon account you use to register your Kindle.
You'll see an option to upload a file.
Step 3: Upload your book
-
Click Select files from device.
-
Find the EPUB file you downloaded.
-
Select it and click Open.
-
Make sure Add to your library is turned on.
-
Click Send.
That's it! Amazon will transfer your EPUB into your Kindle library.
Step 4: Start reading!
Make sure your Kindle is connected to Wi-Fi.
Open your Kindle library and look for your new book. You may need to sync your Kindle or change the library filter to show all items.
Your book should appear, ready to download and read.
And yes, this also works with the Kindle app on your phone or tablet.
What if my book doesn't appear?
First, check that you've signed in to the same Amazon account on both devices. Then sync your Kindle and check your library again.
If Amazon couldn't process the file, you may receive an email explaining why.
Would you prefer us to do all this for you?
I'm considering adding a Direct to Kindle service to the Reader's Lounge.
The idea is simple. You choose a book, click a button, and we arrange delivery to your Kindle. You would need to approve us through Amazon, after that, getting your books would be easy.
Would you use this service?
Let me know through the comments below. If enough readers are interested, I'll make it happen.
